Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams (born on August 20th 1974 in Aviano Italy). American actress. She is known for her role as naive charming characters. Adams was born to an U.S. Army officer in Italy and then grew up to be a resident of Castle Rock Colorado. In the late 1990s, she began professional dance and acting at Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. Then she moved to Minnesota and was cast in Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentarian film about beauty contests. Following her debut on screen as a charming but snarky contestant, she relocated towards Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Her husband was the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 until September 1962, and was her mother to Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh, who was introduced to her by actor Norma Shearer Leigh signed a contract with MGM to launch her career as a film star in the late 40s. Through the 1960s, Leigh starred in popular films such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho as well as Living It Up.
